I can't believe that Madi is already two months old. The time has gone so fast. I love that she is starting to get some chunk. I love her smiles and her coos. She makes me smile every time I look at her. I am so grateful that I was blessed with such an amazing little girl and am honored to be her mom. I love her so much and am so thankful for her. I am grateful for a wonderful husband that is so good to me and so supportive of me being home with Madi and is such a great dad to her. I am truly blessed.

Madi's room...
I finished painting the bookcases. I still have several projects left before I can call Madi's room done but it is getting there. The bookcase paint color is called ballerina kiss. It is a really light pink. We love how it turned out. I still need to mess with her daisys and put pictures of her in her frames and a few other crafty projects. I decided to just leave the quilted blanket I made as her bedding and will make her the one I really want to for her next bed. I hate to spend all that time and money on something she'll only use for a couple years.

Halloween, Sharing Time and Family
We had a great weekend! We were able to spend some time as a family ans Madison has been so much fun and so happy this weekend. Saturday she pushed herself ALL day trying not to go to sleep and she did really well at it. It must have completely wore her out because on Sunday she woke up to eat and that was about it.
Derrick actually suggested putting up our Halloween decorations on Saturday even though it isn't October yet so we had fun doing that. We ran errands and got several things done around the house.
Semptember has been my month for sharing time and it has been the first month that I have had to do it since I was called into the presidency. Our senior primary has about 15 kids and they can be pretty chatty so I assigned seats and promised that if they were good they could pick where they sit next time I teach. They quickly asked if I wasn't teaching in two weeks and said they wanted me to and were bummed that I wouldn't be. It made me feel really good to know that I am not boring them the whole time. We have a wonderful primary and I am so blessed to be with them each Sunday and serve with the women I do.
After church we went to Nicholas and Christina's to barbque. Brenton was blessed and unfortunatley we missed that but we were glad to be able to spend time chatting and laughing with family. We are looking forward to this weekend when we will get to be with them some more!

Cousins...
Playing with her cousins, Whitney and Caitlin
Caitlin wanted to be a helper and feed Madi. Poor Madi ended up with it in her eye. She didn't seem to mind though.

Sick of being sick....
My poor girl. She is so tired and only wants to sleep on my chest and every time she drifts off to sleep I cough and it wakes her up. I was finally able to scoot out from under her and she stayed asleep. Hopefully she can take LONG nap. Since she has been sick she only eats half of what she normally would which means she wakes up to eat more often. She also has a bad cough and is so congested she keeps waking herself up. Hopefully we can kick this soon and Derrick doesn't get it.

Happy Birthday to me!!!
I had a great birthday! The morning started with my gift from Madi and Derrick. They gave me the Willow Tree of the mom, dad and baby. It was one that I have been wanting so it was perfect! The other thing that made this day so perfect is that it was a Saturday so I was able to spend the whole day with the two people I love most, Derrick and Madi. I was also very blessed to be able to spend time with my family and Derrick's family and Mindy. My mother and father-in-law took me to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Ty, Jodi and their kids were able to join us before taking the LONG drive back to OK. It was so great to see them and spend some time with them. We wish they lived closer.

After the Cheesecake Factory we went to visit Mindy. It was great to see her!
Mindy and Madi
After visiting Mindy we headed to Heber Valley Girl's Camp. My grandma and grandpa are on a mission there so we go there every year for a family reunion. This was Madi's first camping trip. (Usually I wouldn't consider cabins as camping but they are worse than sleeping on the ground!)
Catching up...
We have been taking pictures of Madi every Sunday in her onsie and socks so we can see how she grows each week. These pictures are from September 6th.
I love this picture. Madi is not a thumb sucker but I wanted a picture without her binki. When I took it away she went for her thumb. Right after the picture was snapped the thumb came out and the binki went in. (Binki's are an easier habit to break!:D)SmilesI love this picture too. Derrick's favorite thing to do is cuddle up and take a nap with his little girl. He is such a great dad to Madi and I am glad he finally has his little girl to spoil.

Six Weeks...
Where did the time go??? My little girl is already six weeks old! I can't believe it. She is getting so big! Mostly long, she is still too skinny to keep a pair of pants on. I have been working on getting our primary program all finished up and ready to start practicing. I should have it done tomorrow and then I will play catch up on my pictures and on my house! The basement is a disaster! :)

Brenton, Pepsi and Questions...
My sister-in-law had my nephew on August 10, just ten days after Madi was born. She came up this week so I could take some pictures of Brenton and I tried to get a picture of the two of them. Madi wasn't having it and Brenton was trying to eat her. Guess I'll have to try another time.
Christina brought her two girls also, Whitney and Caitlin. While we were eating dinner, Whtiney (age 5), asked "Lissa, how long have you been trying to own a baby?" I had to try so hard not to laugh! I love the things that come out of that little girls mouth. :)Finally, a picture of her awake! She sleeps so much compared to Brenton. Madi is only awake about six hours a day but every time I see Brenton he is wide awake!Derrick's work gave us a blanket, onsie, nightgown, hat, bib, bottle, sippy cup and diaper bag with the Pepsi logo and the clothes and blanket say "I'm a Pepsi baby!" For those that don't know, he works for a distributor and among other things, they do Pepsi products. This is her Pepsi shot to go on daddy's desk!
